FOR SALE: 1978 911 SC $17,000

Anyone familiar with Porsche will immediately recognize how immaculate this mostly stock SC coupe (sunroof) is.

Let me just start by stating that this car is mechanically and cosmetically in near perfect condition. I have owned it for just over two years now. I absolutely love the car and am only selling due to a recent move and family reasons.

Here are a few notables up front:
-No mechanical issues whatsoever
-very strong motor, trans, clutch, brakes, etc.
-hydraulic chain tensioners
-new paint (4-5yrs old), Silver (looks INCREDIBLE!)
-not a single door ding. Body is perfect everywhere. No body work.
-new black leather on factory sport seats
-turbo valve covers
-popoff valve
-viper alarm
-power locks with remote (installed w/alarm)
-cd changer, great kenwood sound system (I know, "who cares?")
-newly anodized (black) exterior trim pieces (all)
-new headliner
-new carpet (all: interior and trunk)
-powder coated accessories in engine compartment during top end
-polished Fuchs
-bumperettes, all rubber moldings and trim in near new condition
-tires have 70%+ tread remaining
-dutifully maintained with all receipts from the previous owner
-of course, no visible or known rust at all

Mechanically, the car is entirely in order. It starts immediately (even after long intervals btwn runs and does not smoke at all on start), pulls very strong, and has absolutely no known issues whatsoever. The transmission shifts very smoothly (even in the cold months) and the synchros show no signs of wear at all. The clutch, brakes, etc. are all in order and show no signs of wear or in need of replacement. The car tracks straight and seems to have been corner balanced at some point, judging by the way it handles extremely well. Of course, it has the usual upgrades (popoff valves, hydraulic chain tensioners) one would expect of a well sorted out SC. Also, the PO had a complete top end performed on the motor by the long time wrench who looked after this car, though the exact mileage when performed is not in front of me now. At present, the car has 174k.

Here is the complete list of the "to do" items on the car (admittedly, very minor items):
-Intermittent fuel level indication. Probably needs a new sender. 15 mins and <$75.
-Intermittent fan switch. Likely a simple short in the switch behind the climate console.
-The occasional drip of oil (1-2 drops/week). The car hasn't dripped any oil for the past 2yrs until the recent oil change when I had to re-use one of the old crush washers. I suspect the drip comes from there, but have yet to investigate thoroughly b/c it is so minor of a drip.
-time for new hood shocks (surprise). 30mins and $60.
-That's it..
Again, I have the all of the POs maintenance records and know that he spent well over $15k over the past decade getting this car in its present immaculate condition. If interested or have any questions, feel free to leave a post on this blog or email me at: schleg11@gmail.com
Thanks,
Kevin

p.s., car is in need of a wash in the pics below, but still, it glows..
